BJJ at Courage Training Centre:
Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu (BJJ) is a grappling martial art based on principles of biomechanics, leverage & timing. What this looks like in practice is performing takedowns, gaining a dominant position and manipulating joints or airways for submissions all against a resisting opponent!
If you’ve watched any MMA on TV you’ll recognise the “big names in BJJ” such as Rear Naked Chokes, Double Leg Takedowns, Arm Bars, Triangles, Mount Position and many more. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu has been proven in the ring as the dominant grappling art once you’ve reached the ground.
Courage Training Centre has BJJ classes 6 days a week, with dedicated classes for beginners & advanced practitioners that are inclusive and welcoming of men, women and kids.

Class Structure:
The typical class structure consists of
- Warm-up
- Learn new techniques
- Positional sparring (practicing what you just learnt)
- Open sparring
